A Note From The Board....
2010 saw the end of and era with the passing of both founding members of the Foundation - Peggy and Ed Auer.
The outpouring of memories, condolences and sympathy were a tribute and testimony to two people whose lives meant so much to so many. Peggy and Ed believed very strongly in the need for individuals to help others both through direct volunteering and when possible, through financial assistance. Their actions and the example they set certainly demonstrated that commitment.
As our Foundation enters into this new year, there is a strong desire to continue with the traditions and examples that Peggy and Ed have set for us. We are also deeply committed to looking into ways to increase family participation in the Foundation and to expand the number and types of charities that we support.
It is important to remember that support is not always financial. When people donate their time and efforts to a worthy cause, that can be a truly wonderful gift. The Foundation has a history of financially supporting groups that family members donate time to.
It was Peggy and Ed's wish for the Foundation to continue and to grow long after their involvement ended. It is a responsibility that we accept eagerly.
